Program Overview & Time Commitment

Our program takes about a year to complete. Students attend classes here in Washington for one week for each module, then they go home and do their homework between modules. Typically it takes students 3-4 months to complete their homework and move into the next module.

COST BREAKDOWN

Tuition is $2500 per module. A student pays one module at a time. We want to be sure that each student is a good fit for the program before the student pays for the next module. Total for 3 modules = $7500 (includes Business class and NBCAAM Exam Preparation)

ADDITIONAL COSTS

Textbooks $220 (new). Please look at our school bookshelf when here to decide which books to purchase. Students may borrow from our school library during class time, buy books second-hand, and request books through their library. Please do not purchase every book on the reading list until you see how useful the book will be to you in the long run. While we list $220, many students find books second-hand for under $100.

INSURANCE

Each student must carry their own health insurance that covers their health needs. The school is authorized to sign students up for ABMP Student Membership at no charge to students. This coverage is valid for up to 12 months or until completion of your training, whichever comes first. This is liability insurance which provides coverage while you are enrolled in school; it does not cover you if you practice for compensation. Students will sign up for this coverage on the first day of class. This policy protects the animals you work on. STRUCTURAL INTEGRATION SERIES

Receiving a SI series is required to graduate from our school. Students find a local practitioner (for humans) from whom they can receive the SI series. A standard 10 session series may range in cost from $60-150 per session. The price is determined by the region, not by the skill of the practitioner. Some students have paid less by getting their series at a SI school or bartering. For most students, this will be an out-of-pocket expense. For some students, health insurance may cover rehabilitative sessions with an SI practitioner who is also a PT, OT, or LMT. Students coming from afar may have costs that include: Travel to and from school Lodging and meals -- Motel, AirBnB, airport pickup & drop off, breakfast & dinner.

Between modules students will complete the online courses, and provide progress reports, observations, and notes on each session they perform.The school will provide guidance and feedback on working with the horses to achieve satisfactory results. Students also agree to receive a Structural Integration series by the end of Module 3 and hand in a paper on their experience so they have a personal understanding of what Structural Integration work feels like and aims to accomplish. Certification is the result of satisfactory demonstration and practice of Equine Natural Movement Series skills.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Compliance with WAC 490-105-130

The school will refund all monies paid if the applicant is not accepted. If the school cancels a class, all monies will be refunded to the student.
The school will refund all monies paid if the applicant cancels within five business days (excluding Sundays and holidays) after the day the contract is signed or an initial payment is made, as long as the applicant has not begun training.
The school may keep a registration fee of $100 if the applicant cancels past the fifth business day after the contract is signed. The registration fee is charged to process student applications.

If the student withdraws or is dismissed after the training begins, the school may keep the $100 registration fee and returns a percentage of the total tuition as described in the following table

When calculating refunds, the official date of a student’s termination is the last day of recorded attendance:
1. When the school receives written notice of the student’s intention to discontinue the training program; or,
2. When the student is terminated for a violation of a published school policy which provides for termination; or,
3. When a student, without notice, fails to attend class
All refunds will be paid within thirty calendar days of the student’s official termination date

Signing The Student Contract

We intend to operate with the highest ethics and expect the same of our students. If something is difficult for you in any way, please convey that to a staff person.

NOTICE TO THE BUYER

Do not sign this agreement before you read it or if it contains any blank spaces. This is a legal instrument. All pages of this contract are binding. Read both sides of all pages before signing. You are entitled to an exact copy of the agreement, school catalog, and any other papers you may sign and are required to sign a statement acknowledging receipt of those.

CANCELLATION OF CONTRACT

If you have not started training, you may cancel this contract by submitting written notice of such cancellation to the school at the address shown on the contract. The notice must be postmarked no later than midnight of the fifth business day (excluding Sundays and holidays) following your signing this contract; the written notice may also be personally or otherwise delivered to the school within that time. In event of a dispute over timely notice, the burden to prove service rests on the applicant.

UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES

It is an unfair business practice for the school to sell, discount, or otherwise transfer this contract or promissory note without the signed written consent of the student or his/her financial sponsors if he/she is a minor, and a written statement notifying all parties that the cancellation and refund policy continues to apply.

Financial Obligation

NOTICE OF FINANCIAL OBLIGATION

Washington law requires the following information to be supplied to each student enrolling in a private vocational school licensed under Chapter 28C.10 RCW. One copy of this notice bearing original signatures must be attached by the school as addenda to that individual’s enrollment agreement, as well as a copy provided to the enrollee by the school.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT BY ENROLLEE

I understand and accept that any contract for training I enter into with the above-named school contains legally binding obligations and responsibilities. I understand and accept that repayment obligations will be placed upon me by any loans or other financing arrangements I enter into as a means to pay for my training. I understand that any enrollment contract I enter into will not be binding or take effect for at least five days, excluding Sundays and holidays, following the last date such a contract is signed by the school and me, provided that I have not entered classes.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT BY SCHOOL

Prior to being enrolled in this school, the applicant whose name and signature appears above has been made aware of the legal obligations he/she takes on by entering into a contract for training. Those discussions included cautions by the school about acquiring an excessive debt burden that might become difficult to repay given employment opportunities and average starting salaries in his/ her chosen occupation.

How to File a Complaint or Appeal

Washington law requires private vocational schools to inform students how to file a complaint. By signing this form you acknowledge this process has been explained to you. Below are the next steps the school must take in discussing this policy with you, along with information about the complaint process. Students who have a complaint or who would like to appeal a dismissal must request in writing an appointment for an interview with the school director. The written request should include the following information:

Student’s full name and current address. Describe the concern. Include dates, times, instructors, and if applicable, other students involved. Date of complaint letter and signature of the student. Three dates on which the student would be available for a meeting with the school director. These dates should be within 10 business days of the complaint.

The school director will notify the student in writing of the appointment date in which the concerns or appeal will be addressed. Every effort will be made to bring an amicable closure to the concern. If necessary, a panel of instructors will hear the concerns and be asked to assist in bringing a resolution to concerns and/or appeals. The student will be notified in writing within five business days of the outcome of the meetings. Should the contract be canceled by either the student or the school, the last date of attendance will be used as the date to calculate any refund in accordance with the school’s refund policy.

DISCUSSION ABOUT COMPLAINT POLICY

A school representative must discuss the school’s complaint policy with you. Following this discussion, you will be provided with this attachment to sign. After you sign this form, the school will give you a copy for your personal records. The school will also keep a copy on file.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT (“AGREEMENT”)

BY SIGNING THIS AGREEMENT, YOU ARE GIVING UP CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO RECOVER DAMAGES IN CASE OF INJURY, DEATH, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE. READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING. YOUR SIGNATURE INDICATES YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND AGREEMENT TO ITS TERMS.

RELEASED PARTY: FRIENDLY HAVEN RISE, INC. d/b/a THE EQUINE NATURAL MOVEMENT SCHOOL, its shareholders Joseph R. Freeman and Jacqueline Freeman), the Board of Directors, employees, contractors, agents, and volunteers; Joseph R. Freeman, and Jacqueline Freeman (hereinafter “SCHOOL”).

INHERENT RISKS.

WHEREAS, the UNDERSIGNED acknowledges the inherent risks involved in equine activities including all aspects of equine structural integration, bodywork, and massage education, which risks include but are not limited to, bodily injury, illness, disability, death and/or property damage, and are described in greater detail below, arising out of or related to being on or off of SCHOOL property including but not limited to the SCHOOL’S classroom or any barn or equine facility; the unpredictability of working with equines in differing physical states, that may be experiencing pain or discomfort, or have chronic structural problems or fascial restrictions in the body, working with any equine the Undersigned does not own or know personally, working with equines in close proximity and in restricted spaces; observing, using, petting, handling, leading, tying, as well as, attending any event, providing care and basic equine First Aid, driving between facilities using private transportation or with SCHOOL, or otherwise being in close proximity of horses, including as a spectator, as well as other risks reasonably related to engaging in equine activities; and that both horse and/or student can be injured during even seemingly normal use;

OTHER RISKS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

The propensity of horses to behave in ways, such as, running, bucking, biting, kicking, shying, spooking, rearing, tripping or stumbling, falling or stepping on, as well as in other ways not listed herein that are generally characteristic of horses, with or without warning; the unpredictability of a horse’s reaction to such things as sounds, colors, sights, surprises, sudden movement, unfamiliar sensations, pain or discomfort, and/or unfamiliar objects, other persons or other animals (whether domestic or wild); and reality that horses can encounter sickness or disease, astray, theft, damage, injury or death, especially during equine structural integration, bodywork, and massage. All of which may also result in an injury, harm, or death to persons and/or property damage;

Inherent risks for injury to a person(s) are not limited to, falls, fractures, concussions or any head injury, paralysis, disability, death, overexertion, fatigue, overheating; injuries due to a lack of physical fitness or conditioning, prior injuries, illness, or medical condition; the negligence of others; the potential for SCHOOL, a participant, a spectator, or any guest or other third party, to act in a contributorily negligent manner that may thereby contribute to the Undersigned’s injuries; exposure to a communicable disease, pathogen, illness, infection, plague, or other transmittable condition (including COVID-19); environmental factors not limited to the weather, terrain, forestry, or noxious/poisonous plants not limited to nettles or prickly plants; poisonous insects, spiders, reptiles, bees, or any other insect, animal or predator; slip and fall; cars or any other motorized vehicles; roads, pathways, or trails; the potential that any person may fail to maintain control over their horse, may overstate or misrepresent their equine abilities, or otherwise fail to act within the participant’s ability; the potential for collisions between horses, people, other animals, property, or any combination thereof; injuries as a result of other animals (whether domestic or wild); injuries as a result of a dog or cat bite, scratch, or strike; any injury sustained as a result of equipment, tack, or tack/equipment failures; unknown latent property defects; new, undiscovered, or preexisting surface or subsurface conditions, or damages to SCHOOL or its premises such as damage to stalls, barns, aisles, walls, riding areas or arenas, sheds, paddocks, pastures, fencing, walkways, any wooden structures, plumbing, wash racks, equipment, driveway(s), gardens or forestry, landscaping, SCHOOL or barn equipment, or other miscellaneous objects such as poorly placed tools, horse blankets or tack whether or not the personal property of the Undersigned; any consequences due to limited availability of emergency medical care; and Inherent risks of property damage not limited to, any lost, stolen, or damaged personal property or personal effects of the Undersigned; any vehicle including the contents thereof; or damage to property due to exposure to weather or other natural elements.

HOLD HARMLESS RELEASE OF LIABILITY.

WHEREAS, the UNDERSIGNED, acknowledges s/he has read and understands the foregoing “Inherent Risks” and does hereby knowingly and voluntarily release SCHOOL as defined herein, from any liability or responsibility for accident, damage, injury, disability, death, or illness (including COVID-19) to the Undersigned, or any horse owned by or in the custody and control of the Undersigned, while at any location on or off of the premises of SCHOOL; and that except in the event of SCHOOL’S gross negligence or willful conduct, the Undersigned agrees to not bring any claims, demands, actions or causes of action, and/or litigation, against SCHOOL for any economic or non-economic losses due to bodily injury, illness (including COVID-19), disability, death, and/or property damage sustained by the Undersigned in relation to the premises and operations of SCHOOL, including during equine structural integration, bodywork, and massage education; while engaging in equine activities, or otherwise being near horses owned by or in the care, custody and control of SCHOOL or third parties.

INDEMNIFICATION.

IN CONSIDERATION, therefore, for the privilege of equine structural integration, bodywork, and massage education; spectating, and/or working around horses or otherwise engaging in equine activities, as afforded by SCHOOL, at any location on or off of the premise, today and on all future dates, the Undersigned does hereby agree to defend and indemnify SCHOOL as defined herein, and agrees to pay all associated legal fees and costs incurred by SCHOOL’S defense, arising out of or related to the acts or omissions of the Undersigned or any SCHOOL equine-related activity.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK.

The Undersigned, completely understanding and acknowledging the inherent dangers associated with equine structural integration, bodywork, and massage education; and participation in both equine and non-equine activities, and also having had an opportunity and sufficient time to fully inspect the SCHOOL premises including sufficient opportunity to know of and appreciate specific risks of SCHOOL’S premises, does hereby voluntarily, knowingly, and expressly assume all associated risks and hazards of the land; equine structural integration, bodywork, and massage education; or from participating or attending any event, equine activity, or non-equine activity. See page one under “Inherent Risks” for a non-exhaustive but more thorough description of associated dangers and risks.

MEDICAL RELEASE.

The Undersigned hereby authorizes SCHOOL to seek emergency medical care or transportation if in SCHOOL’S discretion emergency medical care is necessary for the Undersigned and the Undersigned is unable to convey permission for such care at all or in a timely manner. The Undersigned agrees to accept full financial responsibility for all medical treatment and associated transportation.

USE OF MY LIKENESS AND RELEASE.

By initialing & signing below, I hereby give SCHOOL permission to use my photographic likeness and/or a photographic likeness of my property, including my horse(s), in display, the internet or SCHOOL’S website, advertisements, marketing, promotional or educational publications, and in any other media including social media or email. I hereby grant permission to SCHOOL to use, reproduce, distribute and/or publicize my photographic likeness and/or likeness of my property, including my horse(s). Publication, use, and distribution of these photographic likenesses may be by any means and without limit. Publication or use may occur in any media form, including the internet, email, website or web pages, social media, newspapers, magazines, television, brochures, pamphlets, instructional material, books, and educational material.

PROTECTIVE GEAR / MISCELLANEOUS.

The Undersigned further voluntarily, knowingly and expressly agrees to hold harmless and indemnify SCHOOL of any and all risks from failing to thoroughly read and abide by all SCHOOL rules or regulations (whether or not posted or in effect at the time of this Agreement), and/or the Undersigned’s failure to fairly and accurately represent and warrant his or her equine abilities and experience, or the equine’s training or experience.

Severability: If any portion of this Agreement shall be held to be invalid or unenforceable for any reason, the remaining provisions shall continue to be valid and enforceable. If a court finds that any provision of this Agreement is invalid or unenforceable, but that by limiting such provision it would become valid and enforceable, then such provision shall be deemed to be written, construed, and enforced as so limited.

Governing Law; Attorney Fees: The Undersigned agrees that this Agreement shall be subject to the laws of the State of Washington and that any dispute arising from this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue in the Superior Court of the State of Washington in and for the County of CLARK. The prevailing party shall be entitled to reasonable attorney’s fees and costs.

Facsimile and Electronic Signatures Authorized: The Parties to this Agreement may complete and sign this Agreement electronically and such copies will be treated as original for purposes of enforcing the terms of this Agreement.

WARNING: Under Washington Law (Chapter 4.24, Revised Code of Washington), an “Equine Activity Sponsor” or “Equine Professional” is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant engaging in an “Equine Activity” resulting from the inherent risks of Equine Activities.
